NIKE

Do you know the origin of Nike? Well, once we learned it, we were shocked… Here’s our take on the iconic brand.

Did you know!?

“Nike” is the Greek goddess of speed, strength, and victory. Ancient Greek’s worshiped Nike because they believed she could grant them the speed and strength needed to be victorious. Her greatest attribute was her large wings. Nike’s “swoosh” logo represents her wing…

The Nike logo looks like a wing laying down. As iconic as the logo is, we thought we could reimagine the logo if we made it look more like a wing in-flight. Maybe it will bring more attention to the true history of the goddess Nike… Let’s get started.

Unused Concept #9

The 3 “checks” represent strength, speed, and victory, like the goddess Nike. Also, the logo resembles a wing much more than the original Nike “swoosh”… However, we weren’t completely sold on this idea and went back to the drawing board…

MORE UNUSED CONCEPTS…

After hours-and-hours of playing with ideas, we had an entire page full of concepts…

And we finally found the one…

A logo that incorporates the original Nike “swoosh”, and that better represents the Greek goddess Nike and her wings.
